Family: Close to the Heart During Our Migration

March 26, 2013 0 Comments

I was in the middle of a conversation with my older cousin, Vanessa, and my mom walked over to me and tried to shove this teal box and pink triangle box into my hands. I was trying to pay attention to all our guests and spend time talking with everyone but something about the way she tried to just shove the box in my hands and make it seem like it wasn't a big thing stopped me in the middle of my sentence. I excused myself and ran into my younger cousin, Ashley, while I was opening the teal box. The teal box held a silver necklace and a round hollow pendant. They were beautiful but I didn't fully understand the gift until I opened the pink triangular box and saw a small bag of charms. As my eyes scanned over them all sitting in my palm I found myself trying to figure out which family member(s) represented each charm. I was so touched that my mom knew exactly what to get me to grab me by the heart. This necklace is something that I'd love to wear all the time. After a day or two I realized a way to show my family all the places they have been with me. So the pictures below are of our Mooney Migration with my family!
