One of my goals for 2013 is to have a completed manuscript by the end of the year. Since I stopped pursuing my dream of writing when I was told that no money could be made off being a writer, I stopped researching how to go about getting into the field. This year that changes. On December 26th my husband bought me Your First Novel because I went in to Barnes & Nobel looking for Writer's Market 2013 and they didn't have it in stock. Bless his heart, he didn't want me to leave without something to get me on the road to my goals.

This next book was referred to by my High Elevation Living, who recently got a book deal! Congratulations!! Since it was referred by her I looked into it immediately and ordered it on Dec. 26th. Praise God it came in on January 1st! The BEST way to start the new year for a writer! Although this book was referred to me first I'm going to wait to start reading it since I need to learn how to organize my ideas, pick a genre, a POV, etc. Need to get my book rolling before I start reading Writer's Market 2013.

I'm so excited! This is something I've wanted since I was a little girl. And the first novel I'm going to write will not be a children's book, I've decided to run with an idea I thought of as a 5 year old girl and was never encouraged to pursue.
